If you've never used the online system before, you need to request a logon id and
password. Use the Request Logon ID link located on the left hand side of the screen,
located just beneath the Logon Form heading.

When you file your monthly reports and annual statements with the Colorado
Department of Insurance Online Surplus Lines system, there is never a fee
to file. If you file late, you may still have to pay a late fee or penalty,
but there is no charge to simply file.
The statute provides for two different kinds of penalties for filing late.
You will need Internet access and a standard Internet browser to use the
online system. No other special software or hardware is required.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later is recommended.
The online system is accessible from 1:00am through midnight every day.
You must have a valid Logon ID and account before you will be able to use
the Surplus Lines Tax system. Use the “Request Logon ID” link located on
the logon form to apply for a Logon ID and account.
The Colorado Division of Insurance will approve or deny all requests for
new Logon ID’s and accounts within 5 business days of the original request.
If you have a valid online account for the Surplus Lines Tax System,
you can use the Password Finder located on the logon form to receive
an email reminder of your Logon ID and Password. This reminder will
be sent to the email address on file for your online account.
Yes. Your Logon ID stays with you regardless of the brokerage you work for.
Accounts that have not had any activity for 24 months will be
deactivated. You must contact the Surplus Lines Tax Administrator
to re-activate your account.

Access to the online system is available only to those individuals
with a valid Logon ID and Password. Starting with the logon page, all
transactions sent to and from the online system are encrypted. Bank
account and routing information are not stored within the online
system and all passwords and other sensitive information are stored in an
encrypted form.
Please note that none of the information maintained by the system will be
available to the general public. Brokers with access to the online system
will only have access to the information that pertains to their own account.

more information on how your information is handled during processing.
Your personal information (phone number, email address, etc.) will only be
used by the online system and the Colorado Division of Insurance to
correspond with you concerning your premium tax filings and payments with
the State of Colorado.
If you encounter a system error, please contact the Colorado Division of
Insurance Premium Tax Division. Please be ready to provide as much
information about the error as possible. Include any specific error
messages that were displayed, what action caused the error, etc.

There are two payment methods available for tax filings that were
submitted online:
- Use the online form to request an ACH debit payment.
- Use the online system to print a payment coupon that can be mailed in with your check.
No. Tax filings submitted on paper must include a check for payment
of all taxes and fees due.
