Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board

Consumer Protection is Our Mission.

Welcome to the homepage of the Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board.

Our mission is "Public Protection Through Effective Licensure and Enforcement" and our job is to regulate aerial tramways, surface lifts and tows used for recreational purposes in Colorado.

The focus is on ski-related equipment, but the Board also licenses other types of tramways.

The Board establishes design, operation, and maintenance standards; reviews requests for variance from the rules; and investigates accidents related to the operation of tramways.

Visit this web page for information about the history of the Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board.
