of
Respiratory Therapy Licensure
The
Office of Respiratory Therapy Licensure was
created in the 2000 legislative session through House Bill 00-1294,
which was signed by Governor Bill Owens on May 26, 2000. The purpose
of this office is to license persons practicing respiratory therapy
in Colorado, to prosecute unqualified individuals practicing respiratory
therapy in Colorado, and to enforce discipline against licensees
violating the Respiratory Therapy Practice Act. Anyone wishing to
practice respiratory therapy in Colorado must hold a license from
this office before beginning to practice. Qualifications
for licensure
:
-
Hold
credentials conferred by the National Board for Respiratory
Care which have not been suspended or revoked.
-
If
the applicant holds or has held licensure in another state(s),
those licenses should be in good standing and not restricted.
