HB11-1013 Requirements for Exemption of Renewal Fees
House Bill 11-1013, effective August 11, 2011, provides that if you meet ALL of the following criteria, you may be eligible for an exemption from renewal fees and continuing competency or continuing education requirements for your upcoming renewal cycle. The criteria are:
- You were called to federally funded active duty that lasted or will last more than 120 days;
AND
- The duty must be for the purpose of serving in a war, emergency or contingency;
AND
- The duty must occur during your current license renewal period OR your license is up for renewal within a six month period after the duty ends.
If you meet the above criteria and you want to apply for the exemptions, you may not renew your license online and must obtain a Manual Renewal form from the Division. You will also need to submit with your Manual Renewal form a copy of your DD-214 or Military Orders along with the other necessary renewal documents. Make sure to include in your email or phone call your request for an exemption of the renewal fees and requirements.
