You should apply for a license by examination if:
• You do not hold a license in another state or U.S. territory, but you have completed a state approved educational program in the respective area of nursing (RN or PN).
• You were educated as a nurse in another country and you are not licensed in the United States or have not successfully completed the U.S. National Licensing Exam.
