VERIFICATION
OF EXPERIENCE FORM
In July 2005, the Colorado State Electrical Board began accepting
the Affidavit of Experience
Form instead of work verification letters on company letterhead.
After
December 31, 2005, you
must use this form to verify work experience. No other format
will be accepted by the Board.
The electrical licensing examination is now being administered by a private testing agency, Pearsonvue. Once the application has been approved by the State Electrical Board, a letter of acceptance and information on how to contact Pearsonvue to obtain a candidate handbook will be mailed. The handbook will provide information on who to contact, how to schedule for the written examination, the testing locations, and the required fee, and other pertinent information.
NOTE: Positive photo identification must be presented at the time of admission to the electrical examination.
If a temporary work permit is required, a request should be made at the same time the original application is submitted. Only one temporary work permit can be issued. A work permit will be issued for a 30-day period only. If, after the expiration of the permit, the applicant has failed to qualify for licensure, such applicant shall cease and desist from working as a master, journeyman, or residential wireman in the state of Colorado. If the applicant is not currently licensed in another category, such applicant must register as an apprentice and work with supervision.
Upon employing an electrical apprentice to perform electrical work, the electirical contractor shall register such apprentice with the Board. Such apprentice shall be under the supervision of a licensed electrician when performing any electrical work.
