Notification of Unlicensed Practice
by Dentists and Dental Hygienists Licensed in Other States
Volunteer Dentists and Dental Hygienists
Section 12-35-115(1)(k) of the Colorado Revised Statutes provides that dentists or dental hygienists licensed in good standing by other states may provide dental or dental hygiene care as a volunteer, at the invitation of any group of licensed dentists or dental hygienists in this state who are in good standing. Such practice is limited to five consecutive days in a twelve-month period and the name of each person engaging in such practice is submitted to the Board, in writing and on a form approved by the Board, at least ten days before the person performs such practice.

The form must be completed in its entirety and submitted to the Board in advance as required by law. Board staff will review the information and provide written documentation that the notification form has been received and accepted or rejected. If the notification is rejected as not meeting Colorado requirements, an explanation will be provided.
Participation in Education or Research Program
