New Continuing Education Requirement: All Licensees Required to be CPR Certified (March 2005). The Colorado State Board of Chiropractic Examiners voted to require all doctors of chiropractic to obtain "Health Provider Level Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation" certification by July 31, 2005. After August 1, 2005, a minimum of two (2) of the required hours for license renewal must be in "Health Provider Level Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation." This requirement is necessary to keep a current and valid certification, as provided by the American Heart Association or other organizations deemed equivalent by the Board. The American Red Cross would be deemed an equivalent organization. Current CPR certification is required to maintain an active license. The requirements may be found in Rule 8 of the Board Rules and Regulations.
