Public Deposit Protection Act
The purpose of The Public Deposit Protection Act (PDPA) is to ensure that public funds held on deposit in banks are protected in the event that the bank holding the public deposits becomes insolvent. Not all public funds held by banks are protected under the PDPA. The PDPA protects only public funds placed in bank deposit accounts, which include checking, savings, bank money-market, and certificate of deposit (CD) accounts.

list of Eligible Public Depositories can be accessed via the automated Institution Search Information System. To utilize the system, click on the Find an Institution button below, and select PDPA
Eligible Depositories from the drop down list under
the category Institution Type.
The
Colorado Division of Banking provides forms to assist financial
institutions in submitting applications and information that are
required by this office. Acrobat Reader, which is required in order to access the forms, is
available free from Adobe, in versions compatible to different platforms. Acrobat Reader can be downloaded by clicking on the icon below. The user also
has the option of converting a PDF document that has been created
in Acrobat Reader to Text or HTML using the Conversion link below.
