License Renewal Information. All architect licenses expire on October 31 of odd-numbered years. Renewal forms are mailed to the last known address on file approximately six (6) weeks prior to the expiration date.

Definitions:

Original License by Examination. You are applying to take an examination in order to qualify for licensure in Colorado.
Original License by Transfer of Grades. You have passed all divisions of the ARE and are applying for licensure in Colorado, but you are not yet licensed in another jurisdiction.
Original License by Endorsement. You hold an active license in another state and wish to apply for licensure in Colorado.
Renew. You currently hold a Colorado license and are in a renewal period.
Reinstate. Your Colorado license has lapsed or expired and you wish to reinstate the license.
(For purposes of licensure status, the terms "lapsed" and "expired" have the same meaning.)
Change Status. You hold an active Colorado license and wish to change the status to inactive.
Reactivate. You hold an inactive Colorado license and wish to have it returned to active status.
