How do I do an address change?
You may change your residence or business address by submitting this application by fax or mail. Be sure to fill it out completely and to include your new phone number if the number has changed.

How do I obtain a certificate of license history or letter of good standing?
There is currently a fee of $15 dollars for this request. Please send a check in the amount of $15 to BOREA with your request form for your license history to:

Please include your name, license number and tell us what state to send the history to. If you want it to be sent directly to you, please let us know. The certificate will be processed in 3 to 7 business days.

How can I get a temporary license to do an appraisal in Colorado?
You may obtain a Colorado Temporary Permit if you are a licensed or certified appraiser in another state. You will need a permit for each assignment but you may appraise more than one property per assignment. Complete the Application and Permit for Temporary Appraisal Practice in Colorado. The fee for the permit is $75.00. You will need to enclose a copy of your current license or certification with your application. It is not necessary to enclose a letter of good standing or certificate of license history.

Please note that although the temporary permit is issued for a period of six months, the permit is good for the entire term of the assignment listed on your application. If you require an extension beyond six months to complete your assignment, you may contact us @ (303) 894-2166, or fax your request to (303) 894-2683. There is no fee for this extension.

I am licensed/certified in another state but I want to appraise property in Colorado. How can I become licensed in Colorado?
An appraiser who resides in Colorado or another state and is licensed or certified* in another state** may become licensed or certified in Colorado without meeting education and examination requirements. Complete an Application for Licensure or Certification as a Colorado Real Estate Appraiser through Endorsement or Reciprocity. You must submit a current certificate of license history from your current or last state of residency with your application.
*Registered or provisional appraisers from other states may not apply for registration, licensure, or certification in Colorado through endorsement or reciprocity.

When do I renew my registration, license, or certification?
A renewal notice will be posted to the Division web site prior to the renewal period. Appraisers are responsible for knowing when to renew and completing the renewal process on time. When renewing online, you will be required to certify that you have completed the required hours of continuing education. Do not send proof of completion of your continuing education. It is your responsibility to renew your license whether or not you receive a renewal notice.

How can I reinstate my expired registered, licensed, or certified appraiser license?
You may reinstate your expired license within two years of the expiration date. Check On-line Services to verify the expiration date and check the web site for the correct fee. The fee is determined by the length of time that your license has expired. In reinstating your license you are certifying that you have completed the required continuing education requirements. After two years of expiration a re application is required for license.
