2012 Vehicle Stamps
2012 vehicle stamps may now be purchased by those regulated motor carriers required to have them on their vehicles. The fee is $5.00 per stamp. Purchase 2012 stamps now.
Emergency Rules

In 2011 the PUC transportation statutes were recodified by the legislature. Rules governing transportation by motor vehicle are being amended to conform with the statutory changes.

The permanent rulemaking process is underway and is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2012. To ensure the effective rules are consistent with the new statutory structure, emergency rules were adopted by the Commission in Docket No. 11R-638TR. License Plate Requirements

State Law requires both luxury limousines and taxis operating pursuant to a permit or certificate issued by the Public Utilities Commission to have special license plates.

Both livery plates and taxi cab plates are obtained through County Motor Vehicle Offices. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in a police citation.

Unified Carrier Registration Agreement

All Interstate Motor Carriers, Motor Private Carriers,
Freight Forwarders, Brokers, and Leasing Companies
are required to register with the UCR program

The Unified Carrier Registration Agreement (UCR) is a federal law that requires registration with a base state and payment of fees by the following entities engaged in interstate or international commerce:

  • Motor Carriers Of Property And Passengers
  • Motor Private Carriers Of Property
  • Freight Forwarders
  • Brokers
  • Leasing Companies.
