The Michael Skolnik Medical Transparency Act of 2010
Senate Bill 10-124 enacts the "Michael Skolnik Medical Transparency Act of 2010" to extend reporting requirements to many health care professionals who apply for or renew a license, certification, or registration, on or after July 1, 2011. Currently licensed Addiction Counselors will be required to complete online profiles at their next renewal in August of 2011. All Addiction Counselors newly licensed after July 1, 2011, will be required to complete online profiles before their applications will be approved.

Continuing Professional Development
House Bill 09-1086 enacts continuing professional development requirements to certain mental health professionals who apply to renew, reinstate or reactivate their license or certificate on or after January 1, 2011. The affected license and certificate types are Licensed Social Workers, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Addiction Counselors and Certified Addiction Counselors Levels II and III.
