Provisional Licensure for Mental Health Professionals Employed in Residential Child Care Facilities

The Colorado legislature passed House Bill 06-1395, restructuring residential treatment centers in the state and further defining residential child care facilities. Please visit this web page for detailed information about the legislation and relevant licensing issues.

Provisional End Date:

Provisional licenses may be held by marriage and family therapists, professional counselors, psychologists and social workers who have the required education and work under supervision in a residential child care facility. For those Mental Health Professionals who hold a provisional license, please note that your license will permanently end on June 30, 2011. Verifications of Licensure include the licensee name, license number and status, original date of issue, basis of licensure, last renewal date, expiration date, and disciplinary action, if applicable. Examination scores are no longer provided by this department. However, licensees may access the following websites for score verifications:
