The Division of Insurance strives to provide consumers with objective, accurate and useful information to help them make decisions about the insurance they purchase.

Complaints or questions?
Information about how companies stack up in terms of consumer complaints can be found in our Complaint Ratio Reports.
Click here to file a complaint against an insurance company, or you can send a letter to the Division of Insurance at 1560 Broadway, Suite 850, Denver, CO 80202 (fax: 303-894-7455). You'll need to provide the company's name, your policy or ID number and a brief summary of your complaint. Please be sure to send copies of any letters that are connected with your complaint, that you've sent to, or received from, the company or other parties involved.
Complaints Against Insurers -- Report to Legislature, released Sept. 22, 2011
The Annual Report on Consumer Complaints Against Insurers for 2010-2011 was provided to the Colorado State Legislature on Sept. 22, 2011, as required by statute. This year’s report provides comparable data for the last five years and identifies the top reasons consumers submit complaints to the Division regarding auto, health, life, homeowners, annuity and title insurance
